We have been living in this region since the 13th century, on the outskirts of the town of Cangas de Sierra, which is now located by the Narcea River. Our village, El Corral, is situated atop Peña Almunia hill, with its houses, orchards, traditional stone porches, shops, and a chapel facing east, featuring an altar with a lamp, embedded in the eastern wall.
